Late summer at Pikesten Lighthouse on Asmaløy. The day had been mostly grey and overcast, but toward the evening the clouds slowly began to clear.

I decided to drive out to the lighthouse, hoping the setting sun might break through the dramatic sky over the open sea.

Pikesten is a well-known landmark along the Hvaler coast, and with the wide horizon and endless ocean, the evening light can sometimes turn into something truly spectacular.
